The Sugarcane (Development) Cess Rules - 1964

No. SOF-III/13(56)!2003, dated 24-12-2003.-In exercise of the powers conferred upon him under section 17 of the Punjab Finance Act, 1964 (XXIV of 1964), the Governor of the Punjab is pleased to direct that in the Punjab Sugarcane (Development) Cess Rules, 1964, the following further amendments shall be made:

1. In rule 8 sub-rule (6) after the word "Department" and before the word "shall", each occurring for the first time, the words "and brackets" in consultation with the Provincial Sugarcane (Development) Cess committee"; shall be added.
2. In rule 9-
   (i) In the heading, the word "District" shall be omitted and after the word "Sugarcane" and before the word "Committee", the words and brackets (Development) Cess", shall be inserted.
   (ii) Sub-rule (1) shall be renumbered as (1-a) and before sub-rule (1), so . renumbered, the following sub-rule (1) shall be added:--
   "(1) Government shall constitute a Provincial Sugarcane (Development) Cess Committee comprising the following:
   
   

   (a)	The Can Commissioner Punjab	Chairman
   (b)	The District Coordination Officer of the District concerned.	Member
   (c)	The Chairman, Pakistan Sugar Mills Association or his nommee.	Member
   (d)	Member Technical from Planning and Development Department, Government of the Punjab	Member
   (e)	Representative of Finance Department, Government of the Punjab.	Member
   (f)	Representative of Finance Department, Government of the Punjab.	Member
   (g)	Representative of Growers to be nominated by the Secretary to Government of" the Punjab, Agriculture Department; and	Member
   (h)	Any other member co-opted by the Cane Commissioner, Punjab	Member
